November 17, 2022 — The Salina Public Library is bringing authors from around the world to Kansas. The library is part of the Library Speakers Consortium, a group of more than 200 public library systems from across the country that bring author talks to you online. Their goal is to make these interviews more accessible to communities of all sizes. The speakers are best-selling authors who often have popular, new books out.
These talks are more in-depth than a television interview with programs that often go for about an hour. When you register you are able to submit questions for the author. There is also a group chat if you are watching live.
In early November the consortium spoke with author Bonnie Garmus whose debut novel “Chemistry Lessons” is a New York Times Bestseller. She was interviewed from her home in London. While the cover of the book looks like a summer read, this story is so much more.
