If you are on this website, chances are you already know that libraries are a treasure. As a library customer, you know that the library is the heart and soul of the community. It is important to spread the word to all community members about how libraries can enhance their lives. Libraries need to spread the word about the value to neighbors, friends, and decision-makers.

Be a Trustee

Through the coordination and determination of trustees, new libraries have been built, budgets have been increased, and new respect has been generated for the powerful role libraries play in communities.

Donate

Most libraries are able to take charitable donations. Your support could assist with additional programs and materials. Nothing feels better than giving.

Vote

Vote for elected officials who support libraries, education, and the humanities. If you have the opportunity, vote for bond campaigns to improve your library facilities.

Show Your Love

Wear your library love on a t-shirt. You can purchase t-shirts through a third-party vendor Threadless.

Please note that libraries do not make any money from these t-shirt sales. It is just a way to show your support. Any questions about sales and refunds go directly through the online vendor.

Join Our Friends

Many public libraries have Friends groups where you can volunteer and connect with others in your community. Check out Friends of Kansas Libraries (FOKL) for additional information or ask your local librarian.

Share your library story with us. What makes your library special?

“There is no frigate like a book and no harbor like a library, where those who love books but can't afford their own complete collections, or those who need a computer, or kids who need a safe place to read after school, or moms with toddlers who want their babies to learn to read, can all come together and share in a great community resource.”
